Dendrobium Enobi Purple ‘Splash’

I bought three small Den. Enobi Purple ‘Splash’ plants at the Boca Raton Orchid Society show from Kalapana Tropicals in February 2017. In March 2017, I mounted it to a piece of cypress driftwood from Nature’s Relics.

These specific dendrobium’s are in the section of Phalaenanthe. They are sympodial (branch stops growing after bud forms), epiphytic (gets moisture and nutrients from the air) and tropical (warm). Here in south Florida they stay outside year-round. They like medium sunlight, heavy water and fertilizer when the roots first appear. Then, I just make sure they get watered at least once a week. I will be submitting this for the monthly meeting of the Delray Beach Orchid Society in September.

The meetings are usually in person, but we have been meeting virtually due to Covid… boo. But, it is definitely better than no meetings at all.

Hi, I’m Donna

I am Donna, I would like for this to sound very inspiring and uplifting. However, since this is a learning tool for me, I think it’s just going to sound a bit lame at this point. At some time in the future I will make this more earth shattering for some one to read.

For now, this is a beginning. I wanted somewhere to record what’s important to me.

You know, the jar of large rocks to small sand particles. I need a place to keep my retirement alive. For me to show you what I think is important. I am expecting this to cover everything about me… thus the name: chance objects.

My chance objects are going to be things like: family, travel, hobbies and odd things I love. Hopefully you will find some of it interesting.
